Tejwani expressed his disappointment when he got replaced at the last
moment from upcoming comedy show, Namune. And now here is the latest story of
popular actor Krrip Kapur Suri being a victim to the same. Krrip was signed for
Colors’ Udaan. But just when he was on the way to the set to shoot his first
scene, Krrip was informed that he has been replaced.
Udaan is all set
to go in for a seven-year leap and that’s why the makers needed a popular face
to take the story forward as Suraj’s (Vijayendra Kumeria) brother, Ghumaan
Singh. While a lot of names were considered, the final two names were that of
Krrip Kapur Suri and Mohammad Nazim. However, the makers finalised Krrip. But unfortunately, just as he entered Film
City and was approaching the set, he was informed that he is no longer a part
of the project and his rival (Nazim) has been signed on.
Talking to Bombay
Times, a shocked Krrip spoke about what happened after he was confirmed on the
show. He said, “No one should ever hurt anyone’s emotions, especially an
actor’s, because emotions are all he has got, and he portrays them on screen. I
was at the Film City gate, when I learnt that another actor (Nazim) has been
roped in for the part. It was both surprising and shocking. However, I am happy
for Nazim, as I am sure that like me, he, too, needs work and money. My only
concern is that such incidents shouldn’t take place, as there are many aspiring
and new actors, who could feel dejected and shaken. I don’t know what would
have happened if had reached the set. All I can say is that it’s not an insult
to my acting, but to the judgement of those who replaced me after roping me in.
It’s an insult to their discretion and decision. I have learnt that you don’t
become an actor just by learning the craft, it’s situations likes these that
make you a good artiste. Life is the biggest guru and circumstances teach you what
the most reputed schools can’t do.”
Interestingly, according to the leading daily, Mohammad Nazim, who has bagged the part, has no clue about the last-minute replacement. He said, “I was unaware of Krrip’s replacement, but this is a competitive industry and we are here to work hard and create our own space. I am currently focussing on my work.”
